  • Quiet Times (Question Sheet/Form)
This document contains a simple question sheet/form which will help when doing Bible-Studies, either personally, or as groups.
    By Dan Towers.
A quote from Jane (16 years):
" I started going to YPF when I was twelve, I came with a friend who’d been brought up in Ebenezer. I had been going to another church since I was small and it had its own youth group. But I hadn’t been going there, or to church for ages, though I had attended the Sunday School. But it was different somehow. The teaching was the same, the Bible version was more or less the same, but the people were different. They seemed to be trying to live the Bible not just learn it.

Basically, it is a group of young people who’ve come to know God and others who are just learning about Him, all together learning about and sharing God. It was the friendship that hit me. I had never had a Christian friend before. Now I have loads. Every week we all have a chance to talk about any problems we’ve had in the week, and we all pray about it and sometimes discuss it to help sort it the way God wants us to. I learnt what it means to be part of God's family. As Christians we are brothers and sisters in Christ, so it's just great to be able to have that in common with so many people."
A quote from Owen (14 years):
" I have been coming to Ebenezer Baptist Church for about 5-6 years. At first, I went to the Friday Club which is for 5-12 year olds. It was really enjoyable. But when I entered year 8 in my school, I also entered YPF. It is FANTASTIC !! We play games, sing about the Lord Jesus Christ and we listen to teachings from the Bible. We also have a time of prayer, when all members of the YPF, join together and pray about each other. We also go on fabulous camping weekends. It is like YPF, but it is 2 days, not 1 night.

What I love about YPF is making friends and learning about the Creator God and the Saviour, Jesus Christ. The main reason that I go to YPF is not for fun, but to learn about Jesus Christ, the only person that can get us to God when we die. So come to Ebenezer Baptist Church to learn about the Lord."

The Young People's Fellowship

Fridays, 7:45 - 10:15pm

The Young Peoples Fellowship (YPF), our Church's Youth meeting, is for anyone from Year 7 and up (11+). We usually begin the meeting with games such as basketball, volleyball, team games like charades, or even quizzes.

After eating biscuits/chips/sandwiches (anything available!) and squash we usually sing a few choruses or hymns and discuss the things we should pray about. These can be people or problems we are concerned about, or events coming up. All the young people are encouraged to pray about the issues that have been mentioned and particularly pray about the meeting to come.

After the time praying, we normally study a passage or subject from the Bible.

There have been many special times when we have seen prayers answered and young people coming to know God for themselves. It has been lovely to see young people who have "grown up" in this meeting going on to serve God in many different ways and countries.

Please read the quotes from those who come along to YPF (on the right). It would be great to see you there.
